Many dog owners with small dogs, especially those weighing around 2 kg, often ask us whether our product is suitable. Yes, our product is also suitable for very small dogs. You should use one scoop every two days, as described in the feeding recommendations under Application.

Important: Smaller dog breeds often have teeth that are too close together due to breeding and are therefore particularly susceptible to tartar. It is particularly important to ensure that small breeds have good quality food and appropriate chewing material.

WHITE dental plus is extremely well tolerated as it is 100% natural and vegan. It contains no genetic engineering, gluten, fructose, lactose, yeast, soy or artificial additives and promotes digestion, feed conversion and metabolism.

We recommend a combination of FRESH and WHITE dental plus if gingivitis, bad breath or tartar occur together. WHITE dental plus is effective against tartar and plaque, while FRESH soothes the gums and relieves gingivitis. FRESH also has an antibacterial effect and combats bad breath, which can be caused mainly by bacteria. The proportions of the analytical components are not constant, as WHITE dental plus is a natural product and the proportion depends on exposure to light, growth time, season and drying.

WHITE dental plus is sufficient for dogs weighing 2 to 10 kg for 2 months and correspondingly shorter for dogs over 10 kg. For very small dogs weighing around 2 kg, which only receive a measuring spoon every two days, one can even last up to 4 months (see application in the store). For large dogs, we offer special packages (2 and 4 packages) as well as a 5 + 1 offer.

It is important to make sure that the food you give your dog is species-appropriate and balanced. Dry food can lead to serious health problems. High-quality wet food and raw meat bones as chewing material can be a good alternative. Natural chews such as rabbit ears with fur and 100% air-dried meat strips should also be considered. Brushing your teeth does not help with tartar. The plaque is too hard to remove with a toothbrush. We also believe that brushing dogs' teeth is not species-appropriate.

It tastes and smells slightly salty from the sea. Due to the drying and gentle processing, it is highly accepted by dogs.

Our products comply with Feed Quality, which, like all high-quality dog food, has been extensively tested and certified. Overdosing is not known, but we recommend sticking to the feeding recommendation given, as a higher dosage does not necessarily lead to a better effect.

There is a lot of ignorance about thyroid problems in dogs or about iodine, most of which is collected on the web. To explain: the most common malfunction is hypothyroidism.

Forms of hypothyroidism:

• Primary hypothyroidism: destruction or atrophy of thyroid tissue
• Secondary hypothyroidism: destruction, malformation or suppression of the pituitary gland
• tertiary hypothyroidism: malformation or acquired damage to the hypothalamus
• Congenital hypothyroidism: congenital defect associated, for example, with a disorder of iodine uptake or iodine utilisation

An oversupply or undersupply of iodine can only affect the thyroid gland with long-term and excessive intake. The main cause of an iodine oversupply is often the long-term feeding of industrially produced dry or wet food. Unfortunately, over 90% of all dog foods contain artificial vitamins and minerals in often far too high quantities, which can be found as additives or under the label "nutritional additives", including iodine. These are often used to compensate for the poor nutritional quality of the food in order to make the product saleable. In addition, many ready-to-eat foods contain preservatives, attractants and other additives, not all of which need to be declared. This applies to 98% of all dry food, which is generally not suitable for dogs. Dry food was invented by the animal feed industry in the post-war period and is still advertised today as "healthy" at great expense.

Many people like convenience and simplicity, which is why dry food has persisted to this day. Unfortunately, ignorance on the part of dog owners, false promises from manufacturers, advertising and little regulation support this trend. If you inform yourself, you will learn that dry food, but also many wet foods, are unhealthy for your dog. For example, a high-quality food does not need any additives, a little vitamin D is fine, but that's it.

You can use WHITE dental plus without hesitation as it has a low iodine content of 120mg/kg. One scoop contains only 0.75 grams and you should feed one scoop per 10 kg of dog weight every day. For very small dogs weighing around 2kg, it is sufficient to mix one scoop into their food every other day. WHITE dental plus is a popular BARF ingredient and is safe for the duration of treatment if fed in a species-appropriate and high-quality diet.

However, as we do not know what you are feeding your dog and many dog owners are unfortunately not sufficiently informed, we recommend that you carry out the treatment in stages and take a break of 2 weeks after every 6 to 8 weeks. If you provide your dog with a sensible diet, this recommendation does not apply, as iodine is vital for dogs.

If your dog already suffers from thyroid dysfunction, this does not automatically mean that he has to go without iodine. However, the amount is crucial. Please ask your vet, who should ideally have completed additional training as a nutritionist. This additional training is not usually part of the veterinary degree programme. If your vet does not have this qualification, please consult another vet or a veterinary practitioner.

WHITE dental plus therefore offers a very good alternative to traditional teeth cleaning without the need to brush your teeth or resort to chemical agents. It is important to note that tartar always has a cause, but even dogs that are barfed can get tartar. The pH value in the mouth and the position of the teeth also play a role. Information for WHITE dental plus and FRESH customers

DOG FIT by PreThis® WHITE dental plus plus can be mixed with food or fed in a treat such as cottage cheese or liver sausage. One scoop per day is recommended per 10 kg of dog weight (the scoop is included in the packaging). Small dogs weighing 1 to 2 kg should be given one scoop every other day.

The active ingredients in DOG FIT by PreThis® WHITE dental plus are absorbed into the saliva via the digestive system and thus reach the teeth. The natural active ingredients dissolve the tartar so that it can be removed. As a natural product, it needs time to develop its effect, which should be taken into account. The duration of administration of DOG FIT by PreThis® WHITE dental plus cannot be generalized. At least 6 to 8 weeks are required to achieve initial success. Depending on the age, position and strength of the tartar, the position of the teeth (especially small breeds with teeth that are too close together due to breeding) and the quality of the food, it can also take 12 weeks or longer.

Patience is very important here. Please persevere and don't give up after just 6 weeks. However, there are also limits to natural cleaning. If the tartar is already very thick, mineralized, lumpy, all over and spread over many teeth, unfortunately you have waited too long and possibly made mistakes with regard to diet and chewing material. Tartar always has a cause and has nothing to do with the age or breed of the dog! By the way: brushing teeth is something for humans and not for dogs. Brushing your dog's teeth does not remove tartar.

If you want to feed your dog FRESH herbal mix in addition to bad breath and/or gingivitis, you should do this together with WHITE dental plus. FRESH combats bacteria that live in tartar and can cause both bad breath and inflammation in the mouth. Please add FRESH to the food once a day or feed it as a treat. The effect of FRESH on bad breath and/or gingivitis may become visible a little faster within 2 to 4 weeks. You should feed FRESH for the same length of time as WHITE dental plus, as the bacteria can grow in the dog's organism and have a long-term effect on heart, liver and kidney problems.

Dental care with coffee tree wood

You can also support your dog's dental care with a chew made from coffee tree wood. The wood of the coffee tree is special because it does not splinter, is durable and is softened by the saliva to obtain a fibrous consistency. The fibers of the wood support the abrasion of the tartar softened by WHITE dental plus and also the plaque that can become tartar over time. Recognize tartar triggers

As already mentioned, tartar always has a cause! In almost all cases, dog food is the cause of tartar and plaque, as well as incorrect and/or too little chewing material. Particularly with small breeds, which tend to have narrow teeth due to breeding specifications, you have to pay very close attention to the ingredients in their food. Of course, large breeds also need the right food. However, many dog owners do not realise that they are feeding an industrial food, although 90% of all foods are just that.

But I do feed a good food! Really?

The pet food industry is very skilful at not declaring tartar-causing and, above all, harmful ingredients as such. Successful tartar removal and prophylaxis depend to a large extent on food and chewing materials, and dry food is the unhealthy ready-made pizza for dogs. It does not belong in any bowl!

If a food is fed with tartar-promoting ingredients, even the best product may not be effective, or it may take a very long time and not be sustainable. But the promotion of tartar is only the lesser evil with many foods. Dry food in particular is partly responsible for many other diseases (renal insufficiency, thyroid, heart and liver disease, leaky gut and other intestinal problems, etc.). What does the feed declaration on the packaging really mean?

What does the feed declaration on the packaging really mean? Does the feed really contain "fresh beef" if it says so on the packaging? How is the meat content cheated? What is meat meal actually? What does hydrolysed beef, lamb or poultry protein mean? What are "nutritional additives"? What is beet pulp? What does yeast mean? What is apple pomace? What is yucca? What are mannan oligosaccharides? What is pea protein? What is dicalcium phosphate? What is sodium chloride? What is potassium chloride? Why are cereals and maize harmful? Why are they still contained in many types of food? Why is dry food very unhealthy and responsible for many diseases? Our food check answers all these questions in detail. An iodine oversupply or undersupply can only damage the thyroid gland if it occurs over a longer period of time and in excessive quantities. One possible reason for an oversupply is the constant feeding of industrially produced dry or wet food. Over 90% of all dog foods are industrialised foods to which many artificial vitamins and minerals - including iodine - are added, often in high quantities. These additives, which are listed under ‘additives’ or as ‘nutritional additives’, are intended to compensate for the lack of nutritional quality and make the product marketable. Many dry foods also contain preservatives, attractants and other additives, some of which do not have to be declared. However, dry food is fundamentally unsuitable for dogs and is considered harmful to their health - it was originally created in the post-war period as a convenient solution.

The convenience of many dog owners, misleading advertising claims and lack of regulatory control have unfortunately contributed to the popularity of dry food. However, dog owners who educate themselves know that dry food and many inferior wet foods are detrimental to health. High-quality food basically needs no additives, apart from a low vitamin D content.

The daily iodine content of WHITE dental plus is low. One scoop contains only 0.75 grams, and one scoop is recommended daily per 10 kg of the dog's body weight. Very small dogs weighing approx. 2 kg should be given one measuring spoon mixed into their food every two days. WHITE dental plus is safe to use with a high-quality, species-appropriate diet. As iodine is a popular ingredient in BARF, it is advisable to avoid other iodine-containing additives such as seaweed during the administration of WHITE dental plus.

If there is an additional iodine content in the food, we recommend carrying out the treatment in stages and taking a break of 2 weeks after every 6 to 8 weeks.

We recommend reading the book ‘Dogs would live longer if...’ by Dr Jutta Ziegler, which provides comprehensive information on species-appropriate dog care and is regarded as a ‘health driving licence’ for dog owners.

The onset of effect depends on the type and severity of the underlying disease. It usually takes at least 6 weeks before the first positive effects can be noticed, possibly a little longer. Please be patient, as natural products need time to take effect.

Preferably, you should add the capsule closed to the food. Only open the capsule if your dog does not want to swallow it and sprinkle the contents into the food. This has no influence on the effectiveness.

We generally recommend the long-term use of our supplements, as supplements usually take a few weeks to develop their full effect. Continuous use is particularly important for problems with joints, the spine or intervertebral discs in order to achieve long-term results.

However, there are exceptions. For VITAL gastro, when used specifically to treat diarrhoea or soft stools, the recommended duration of use is usually around 5 days. This shorter duration refers exclusively to the underlying symptom. You can find more information on this in the "Use" section for the preparation VITAL gastro. For all other types of digestive and stomach problems or after worm or parasite infestation, VITAL gastro can be fed over a longer period of time without hesitation.

Preparations such as VITAL immune or VITAMIN B can also be fed only at times of high stress or prophylactically 2 to 3 times a year. Ultimately, however, the decision depends on your dog's individual needs and we are happy to help with this decision.
